Not only is Emily a new TPS Foundation board member, but she is also a proud TPS alumni. She attended Old Orchard Elementary, formerly the Deveaux Junior High School and Start High School.

Emily stayed busy while in high school as she played volleyball all four years.

Some of her fondest memories of high school were those of watching her sister preform in a Start High School Variety Show. She also enjoyed participating in the powderpuff football games.

After graduation from high school, Emily went to the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies where she obtained a bachelors in English. Her first career move out of college was to become a writing tutor and teacher.

While her kids were students at Harvard Elementary, she realized she wanted to peruse law school. She then took the jump to pursue her law degree at the University of Toledo. She thrived in grad school, and she most enjoyed the challenging curriculum. Emily is now an attorney with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP in Toledo, Ohio.

Emily is married, and she and her husband have four children together ranging in age from 10-19 years old. In her spare time she enjoys spinning and running. She also pretends to enjoy snow skiing!

Emily has been an active participant with the TPS Foundation as she is on both our Creative Impact Grant and Scholarship evaluation teams. We are thrilled to have Emily join the TPS Foundation Board and look forward to collaborating with her on our programs!
