‘Tis the season of gratitude and we are deeply grateful for all of the donors that make it possible for us to promote quality public education and student success at TPS.
Each year, Toledo Public Schools Foundation is joined by corporations, community groups, faith groups, media and private philanthropic donors that help us create and operate the schools of the future. They invest in real children, real dreams, and real opportunities. Together, we Write the Future.
Owens Corning’s charitable contributions are widespread – both locally and globally – as they invest in their stakeholders’ communities where they live and work. Their investment strategy is thoughtful, impactful and meaningful.
Toledo Public Schools Foundation is proud and appreciative of the support of Owens Corning and their employees; it truly is a partnership. This year alone, Owens Corning contributions to the foundation have totaled nearly $20,000.
According to Chase Principal Jack Hunter, “The relationship between Chase STEMM and Owens Corning has grown organically from a few mentors/tutors to over 40 mentors on a weekly basis. In addition to the human capital aspect of support, they financially support our students through their sponsorship of Lego League and Girls on the Run, as well as other philanthropic events.”
In the development world, we call donors like Owens Corning, transformational. Donor’s whose impact goes beyond the non-profit they are giving the gift to, but on themselves personally through volunteerism.
OC employee Lauren Scott says, “…The students benefit from a positive role model who helps with homework and life skills or just takes the time to listen. The OC employees are greeted with a smile and leave fulfilled, knowing their time and effort is helping to improve the lives of Chase students. Many of our mentors have partnered with the same student year after year.” She adds, “Watching their progress and growth is the ultimate reward.”
Thank you, Owens Corning.
