Dear Friends,
The future economic success of the Toledo area in the next decade depends equally on the growth of new jobs and the availability of qualified workers to fill them. Our community can succeed only if its public school system graduates young adults who are well-prepared for college and careers. But support from public sources is not sufficient to provide the learning tools and support services to assure this kind of achievement for all students.
That is why we have created collaborative partnerships with organizations that have a successful track record of creating a viable path to a productive career/life for every student at Toledo Public Schools—through both early childhood education and college and career readiness.
This is not the typical focus on bricks and mortar projects seen in many major gift campaigns. Rather, it is a community-wide initiative to assure that every student entering TPS will graduate prepared to take a positive, productive, and lifelong role in our community. This campaign is funding the following priorities:
- Sending ten additional TPS students through Toledo Excel’s College Prep Program
- Providing TPS student with learning and mentorship experiences, through our partnership with Junior Achievement.
- Connecting companies with TPS’ Career Technology Education Department
- The Foundation’s endowment
- Creating a scholarship fund for students who need support with drivers education and license fees
In supporting the Write the Future Campaign, you will help meet key challenges that will further this effort. Our $1.5 million dollar campaign focuses on Accessibility to tools and resources, exposure to opportunities, and growth and sustainability to TPSF.
Your generous support will help us provide top-tier education to students, address many of the societal issues they face and in the process lift up our entire community. This generosity will have an impact for years to come.
Please join us in our Write the Future Campaign!
